pneumonia

Pneumonia --let me just say it makes you exhausted. Tuesday I left school, went home and went to bed. Laid down at 7:30 and got up at 7:30 in the morning. Now I think I could lay down and sleep all day. Not even 11:00 and I feel so zapped. Want to go to stamping class on Friday night, but think I will sleep instead.

Saturday Nightmares

Saturday before last I was suppose to go to a stampin class and make inserts for the Simply Adorned charm by Stampin Up. Well a friend had a wreck and I spent the evening in ER with her. This past Saturday I was suppose to go to Stampin Up demonstrator meeting where I would work on learning the My Digital Studio program and do some make and takes.  I knew I wasn't feeling well and went to Care Now. I have pneumonia. Never had it before and hope I never have it again.

This Friday night is a Stampin Up card class I was thinking of signing up for, but I don't know. I am not superstitious. Just don't know if I want to risk a 3rd bad weekend.

True Grit

Went to see the new version of True Grit yesterday. Good movie. I thought the young girl really out shown the men in the movie. She is great. Can't wait to see what she will do next. This movie was more true to life in color --dark. John Wayne movies were always bright with the new techno color that had just be invented. I kind of missed that in this movie. I didn't know it was based of a book. I suspect that this movie reflects more of the book than the John Wayne version. This will probably one of these movies that I will watch which ever version is on TV. Like them both. Go see it. Well worth the money.

One day left

One day left for Christmas break. I just can't wait for Friday to be over. Saturday morning I am not moving from my bed before 10:00 in the morning. Well I may need to get up to go to the bathroom and then I am going right back to bed.

Catching Up On Life

Well I have not been on in a while, so I thought I would just hit on a few things I have been  up too lately.

No particular order:

1. Sunday was awesome for two reasons. Daddy fell in the morning and did not hit his head. He is okay and doing well. It was a relief not to have to go to the ER with him. In the afternoon I went back to the 2:00 performance of my church's Christmas Program. Probably the best one is several years.

2. Saturday I went to the new Narnia movie. Really good. Totally enjoyed it. I have to confess I have not read the books, but the movies have been great. Everyone should go see it.

3. Friday night I taught my first craft party demonstrating for Stampin Up. I had so much fun and the class did too. We made three small projects: a small brown paper bag gift bag with a snowflake theme, a gift card holder with a stripe and button theme, and a small snowman bookmark. I am looking for to my next class in January.

This week I hope to do some Christmas shopping because I have done none. I am looking forward to Christmas break. My principal is letting wear jeans all week. Such a good Christmas present. I love wear jeans.

Lazy Sunday

I kept trying to make myself get out of the house and go to church. It didn't work. I think I just needed a day at home. Watched shows recorded on my DVR, movies on TNT, and two great episodes of The Closer on 27. I am going to end the evening with streaming something from Netflix.

Book Review: Tyrannosaur Canyon

Tyrannosaur Canyon Well after a lot of thought I decided to review Douglas Preston's Tyrannosaur Canyon. Some books just grab your attention at the beginning and you have to keep reading. Tyrannosaur Canyon is one of those books. The intriguing component of this book is the flashback to prehistoric times where the last days of the T-rex life is described right before extinction. The author places these sections through out the book at the beginning of some chapters. His imaginative details draw on your sympathy and compel you to keep reading to find out what happens to her. After these sections you jump back to current times where the T-rex has been discovered in a canyon cave. During the modern day setting, there is murder and a plot to steal the T-rex. Preston's writing has always been gripping, but I think this is one of his best books. Both time periods are written like movies you see in your mind.

After I started reading this book, I called two friends who I thought might like this book. It was so funny because they had already begun the book. All three of us really liked this book.

If you love to read, I encourage you to try this book. Not your genre-I encourage you to try it. I think you will like.
