Lazy Sunday
I kept trying to make myself get out of the house and go to church. It didn't work. I think I just needed a day at home. Watched shows recorded on my DVR, movies on TNT, and two great episodes of The Closer on 27. I am going to end the evening with streaming something from Netflix.

Book Review: Tyrannosaur Canyon
Well after a lot of thought I decided to review Douglas Preston's Tyrannosaur Canyon. Some books just grab your attention at the beginning and you have to keep reading. Tyrannosaur Canyon is one of those books. The intriguing component of this book is the flashback to prehistoric times where the last days of the T-rex life is described right before extinction. The author places these sections through out the book at the beginning of some chapters. His imaginative details draw on your sympathy and compel you to keep reading to find out what happens to her. After these sections you jump back to current times where the T-rex has been discovered in a canyon cave. During the modern day setting, there is murder and a plot to steal the T-rex. Preston's writing has always been gripping, but I think this is one of his best books. Both time periods are written like movies you see in your mind. After I started reading this book, I called two friends who I thought might like this book. It was so funny because they had already begun the book. All three of us really liked this book.
If you love to read, I encourage you to try this book. Not your genre-I encourage you to try it. I think you will like.

Which book to pick?
Right now I am trying to decide which book to pick for my book review. Do I pick a children's book that I like or do I pick a book I have been reading??? I am really thinking of picking a book from one of my favorite authors that I read for pleasure. --Clive Cussler, Janet Evanovich, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, and others. I also like finding new authors like Spencer Quinn's Dog On It. Oh what is a girl to do with so many good books to choose from. You will have to wait for my next entry.

Hillcrest Women's Retreat
Leaving right after school for the retreat. Can't wait to praise God, worship my Lord and fellowship with Christian women. It is going to be an awesome time.

Lazy Saturday
It has been a great lazy Saturday. Slept in, went out for a late breakfast, did a little grocery shopping, and home to talk on the phone and take a nap. Now I am going to watch a movie and do a little crafting. I am designing and making name tags for a woman's retreat at my church.

Difference between a blog and a wiki
Truthfully I am not sure I know the difference. The DISD Library Media Services uses a wiki for Q and A. A select few upload questions and a different group answer. That is extent of my knowledge of wikis. I have never blogged until now. Being a resource person I went to the web to find my answer. At Ask.com I was sent to an article that gave this list:
Wiki:
- Multiple Authors,
- Edited by a group or team,
- Contains links to other Wiki pages,
- Continuously changing and growing rapidly,
- Many-to-many communication.
Blogs:
- Usually a single author. Sometimes can have multiple contributors,
- Author posts, user comments,
- Opinion Sharing ,
- One-to-many content.
This helps but I am still a little nervous that I don't know enough. That would be a good reason I need to take the Seven Things Web 2.0 class.

First Post
Today I am starting a new adventure---this blog--because I am taking a class to learn about blogging and other technologies I really know very a little about. I named it Life School and Stampin because those are the things I like discussing. Life could be about my daddy who has ALZ, books or movies, Bible studies, and just a multitude of other thoughts that run through this mind of mine. School --well is school. Kids say the darnedest things worth remembering. Stampin is fast becoming a favorite pastime of mine.
